yeah ive read the reviews and its a higher model than the 300c for the same price so figured i should grab it but i was hoping maybe someone here had the same model for some info on it . just from reading reviews it seems the lowrance detects structure better but the garmin shows up fish better, so for just fishing for around werribee/point cook for flatties/pinkies/gummys what would be better? mostly bait fishing too...

I fish werribee and i fish shallow ,unless you go miles out from werribee it takes ages by boat to get in 20 meters of water.
When i catch fish from werribee to point cook i just mark it on my hand held g.p.s ...think garmin will be fine for the bay.
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish

there are differences between the 350c and 500. the 500 "now an obcelete model hence price :D" has a lower pixle count P.I where as the 550c had the higher . however the 500c had a higher wattage .
still good units :D

the budget was no more than $300 so the 350c was out and the 500c on special looked like a better buy than the 300c mainly for the bigger screen.

either way it should be a good upgrade from my old Humminbird 250dx
