Hey everyone, sorry but no reports from me here. I've been visiting some common fishing grounds locally in several different spots and thought I'd share what I've seen to give anyone interested an idea of what's biting.
On Monday 13/01 @ 9am visited maribyrnong river behind VU, saw a few Asians fishing for bream with bass yabbies. Saw them caught and release underside breams, there was an old couple fishing with worms, they caught nothing.
On Wed 15/01 @ 11am visited Newport shipping channel side, walked pass few fishos and saw them catching underside pinkies and only 1 guy had a keeper pinkie at 35cm+. Further down the end was a group who preferred to keep thier catch quiet but I can hear splashes in thier bucket, unsure what was in it.
On Fri 17/01 @ 6pm visited Williamstown beach area where the bus stops and rock edges are, was bit windy but did see a few keen fishos battling the elements. Watched them snag cast after cast with the wind and wave against them. Did not see any fish get caught.
On Sat 18/01 @ 11pm visited Altona pier, saw atleast 8 fishos at the end of the pier with a dozen rod spread out. Was there for 20 mins and did not see anything get caught or even a bite. Asked a few fishos and they said nothing was caught yet. Great weather though.
I will post my own reports as soon as I get time for a real session, hope this bit of info help the landbase guys cheers
