Chill camping/fishing spot

Post by Comanita » Mon Oct 29, 2018 8:45 am

Hi guys, i'm after some advice:

I want to go for a 2 days fishing trip with my son somewhere around Melbourne (2-3 hours drive max). Can you please suggest a chill spot where we could set up a tent and do some land fishing (no boat)? I don't really care what kind of fish is there as long as we catch something and have some fun.

Ideally i would prefer a lake, we're not big fans of salt water.

Thank you

Aberfeldy river camp ground, near baw baw.

I camp there at least once a year but we usually go for trail bike riding.. I've only fished there a couple times can get trout and crays, but i dont care too much for freshwater fishing so I mainly just drink beers and enjoy the magical spot. If you don't like it there then your not human

Nagambie.
You have the lake, Goulburn weir & the Mitchell river.
The sports store near IGA has worms and yabbies
1hr - 1/1/2 hrs and freeway all the way
Cheers Gra

It's definitely more of a camping spot than fishing, so if your really keen to catch a lot of fish then probably go to where Texas said lol
