Ferguson Street Pier Williamstown - hints and tips for a newbie
Hey all.
I have been fishing Williamstown with success since moving closer to the area and I really see people struggle to catch the Bream that are around.
I have made up a little video to give some advice on getting started with your adventure of catching Bream at that location.
There are many different methods to catch fish and many people have different opinions on lures, set ups and techniques, this video just shows what I use successfully in the area in the last few months.
Hopefully it will help some newbies out so they can get onto a fish or 2. :a_goodjob:
Enjoy! :water:

Love your vids man; you inspired me to dust off me sp outfit and nab a couple of trevally at Queeny last week.
Couple of Q's:
1. Do you use fluorocarbon for leader?
2. If so, which knot do you use to tie the leader to the main line?
I normally use fluoro leader and find that 15lb can be a little rough on ~6lb main, thus typically tie the leader into a double surgeon's knot and then tie the main to it. I'd like a more exchangeable method for swapping lures, on the proviso that swiwels/clips are out of the question for (finicky) bream; any suggestions?

1. Yes I run a1.5 to 2m length of flurocarbon leader (4 to 6lb for bream)Fishbref wrote:Love your vids man; you inspired me to dust off me sp outfit and nab a couple of trevally at Queeny last week.

2. I always use the FG knot to tie braid to leader. Its pretty easy to tie after some practice.
I would never use a snap swivel or clip for soft plastics, I always tie direct to the jighead with a uni knot. I like to always have direct contact from rod to lure. It onlt takes like 15 seconds to tie a new lure or head on with the uni.
