Is there still schools of mullet at Fergi pier? I used to catch them as a kid and watch the dudes with the long poles clean em up.

Thanks bud; I've got 6lb mono for main, time to change to braid...LINwAd wrote:1. Yes I run a1.5 to 2m length of flurocarbon leader (4 to 6lb for bream)Fishbref wrote:Love your vids man; you inspired me to dust off me sp outfit and nab a couple of trevally at Queeny last week.
Couple of Q's:
1. Do you use fluorocarbon for leader?
2. If so, which knot do you use to tie the leader to the main line?
I normally use fluoro leader and find that 15lb can be a little rough on ~6lb main, thus typically tie the leader into a double surgeon's knot and then tie the main to it. I'd like a more exchangeable method for swapping lures, on the proviso that swiwels/clips are out of the question for (finicky) bream; any suggestions?
2. I always use the FG knot to tie braid to leader. Its pretty easy to tie after some practice.
I would never use a snap swivel or clip for soft plastics, I always tie direct to the jighead with a uni knot. I like to always have direct contact from rod to lure. It onlt takes like 15 seconds to tie a new lure or head on with the uni.
