Shame about the rod. Probably a ray, a few of them around. It’s an awesome spot but it can get really busy.

Ray,shark ,dragon , if you have drag set correctly ,you should hear it peel of line...

It had like 50m of mono left on the spool by the time I had waded out, casted and walked back to my rod holder. So even a big trevally or salmon could have spooled it. Very surprised how it didn't snap though since it was only 6lbs

How big is your reel
Was a 2500

admittedly it had a lot less line on the spool due to a pesky eagle, but still didn't think anything in there would really spool me. locals say there is some big rays getting around on the edge of that channel though.
