Corinella Help, What Bait and Rigs to use?

Post by TomHartmann » Thu Dec 28, 2017 1:48 pm

Hey everyone, I’m going to Corinella to fish off the pier and was wondering what time to fish, I am going to fish as the tide comes in at night, so does anyone know what baits and rigs I can use.
Thanks :water: :water: :water:

Are you targeting a particular species or just fishing for anything?

Start fishing 1 hr before tide change.
Take some heavy sinkers amd then down grade tour sinkera as tide slow downs.
Need a 50lb trace for gummys and snapper and 15lb trace for smaller stuff
Pilchards amd squid work best for most things as well as pippiea but there faily soft

I use a paternoster set up.
But i have atleat 1-1.5 meter with sinker from bottom hook.

Pilchard cut in cubes worked well for me.

I fish the bottom pier either left or right.

Left side is a 5 meter infront of me.

Right side i cast out into chanel but be careful of boats

Why do you have such a long sinker length from last hook?

So lifting itnoff the bottom reduced banjo hook ups.
Does gummys come off the bottom.to eat the bait or have the strike rateon them lowers alao?
