Brimbank Park, Keilor
I've heard there's all sorts hanging around the 'Nong at Brimbank park, so I'm planning to spend this public holiday Friday there.
I've got my spinner set up with Motor Oil Grubz for Bream, but lets talk about Carp.
Has anyone had anything out of there? Is float fishing the way to go? I'm quite familiar with carp fishing so I understand how they like to feed up in the water as it warms up etc... If i see any on the top i may just free line some bread.
Other than that though, what are some of the renowned carp/bream spots to try? if any?
I'm taking the girlfriend so i'd like to set her up with a nice float rig so she can chill while I try my luck on the soft plastics for Bream.
Any info would be appreciated
Cheers,
JP

Interesting, cheers for that.
I've heard there's carp there so I imagine there aren't any Bream.

Yarra river has bream and carp close to the city....i guess it depends on the water salinity.

There is effectively a weir around avondale heights, downstream from Brimbank park. This is the demarcation line between carp and bream (fresh/estuary). So no bream there but there are some thumping big carp around the nong up at that end. i know someone who has success from a little kayak casting unweighted corn, with or without a float
