Opening the Ledger
After not fishing for a little while due to work and home commitments it was great to head down the bay and meet up with John for a fish. We were hoping to get a few early season Reds and conditions where looking good with a strong onshore and a warm afternoon though it did cool down for a while.
John was using his Century TTLDSM as well as his Excalibur "J" curve as well as the Stealth 3TC , for me due to the wind conditions I settled for my Century Eliminator T700 & 800. With the 700 running my fixed spool for most of the session and braid.
Casting with the threadline for me is not the best and it wa interesting to see that the majority of fish came at range using my T800 and Penn Squall 12 loaded with 10 pound power steel.
Sadly John's injured shoulder meant that he couldn't cast as normal and his rods were all set up with the thread lines .
Heres a selection of the ones we kept for the plate :D
Bait was bay pilchards loaded on 4/0 circle hooks and clipped down Pulley rigs .
Regards

Great catch mrgreen! That's a top feed. JS I usually stab them just above the eye. Is that the spot to spike them?JS270 wrote:Nude up , I brain spike all my fish that I keep for the table
