barwonboy wrote:hey guys I'm thinking of going fishing on a pier tomorrow with my dad. I'm just wondering if I should go to mordialloc, Brighton or maybe Mornington pier. If anyone's been down there recently I wouldn't mind hearing how you went. If there's any other piers that have been going well it would be apprieciated if you gave some tips.

Thanks Lucas
I caught 21 garfish and 3 nice salmon in 3 hours on mordialloc pier last week, i used a float with squid at the end of the pier.
Thanks man did you use any burley, I'll let you know how I go
Yeah, just some garfish pellets at the local tackle shop

In my opinion Mornington is a lost cause atm.

Lately I been out baitcasting at sun up, sun down, middle of the night, high tide low tide... with very little to show as reward.

Not sureabout the squid though, they may still be worth a try, I don't chase squid....to much moving around for my liking.

Sounds like Mordi is more productive according to the other posters.

Good luck to you,
Star

went to mordialloc last weekened with dad and we did okay. we bought home two nice salmon for gummy bait. we hooked onto about five others but they kept snagging us.i used a metal slug without hooks and had a plastic trailing behind it. good fun and thanks to everyone for the tips
