Re: Where the bloody hell are the fish?!
Mate the pinkies are going wild at newport chanel. The big chanel that runs under westgate, the rocks behind the warmies in the chanel side is sure fire atm with pilchard fillet and squid strips on small size 4 hooks on a paternoster rig being dynamite. I bagged out today and my mate baggsed out yesterday. Fish have been ranging between 29cm - 45cm and theres been big flatties and small trevalys to mix up your bag. Goodluck

Might be opening a can of worms her but here goes
Whats everyone thoughts on hard vs soft tackle boxes? I have a traditional hard tackle box but it seems every fishing store i go into is fully stocked with soft tackle boxes and i never see anyone actually using them!
Whats everyones preference, anyone found a soft tackle box that works well for them?

Soft ones I guess are easier to sling over your shoulder and carry. Otherwise its personal preferencegmtl34 wrote:Might be opening a can of worms her but here goes

On the west side Geelong's North Shore / St Helen's produces some decent Pinkie's, Whiting around this time of year & worth a try
