Hey guys
Headed to hazlewood land based with my family tomorrow
Was wondering if anyone has any tips on catching the tilapia and cichlids that live in there? Got corn, bread and chicken for bait and the normal small soft plastics and flies for artificial presentations, wondering if there's anything I should know in particular or is it just wait for the fish to find us?
Obviously going to throw around Barra lures as well but would be nice to get my brother onto something else
Thanks in advance guys!

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad

GTSHoon fish around the creek at stockyard and suspend baits under a light float it would pay to dig up some worms too. Throw a bit of corn and breadcrumbs for burley. As for Barra walk the banks in the same area casting hardbodies or vibes and try and match the hatch if you can. Good Luck.

From what I've heard the cichlids are easy to catch. All of your baits should be fine. Bare hook has been mentioned too

Don't worry about floats or anything. The smallest mosquito hooks you can find. A piece of plastic half the size of your pinky finger nail. And a few slices of bread. Maybe a small split shot of your plastic floats
Throw out the bread. Dip the plastic in and around it.
They are retardedly aggressive.

earthworms = cichlid meth.
My best day on the 'lids?
276 fish. Worms did the damage. break off tiny pieces and thread onto the small hook. Throw a few cups of small pieces worms and bread around the area to get them fired up
