Re: Re: Kilcunda rocks
My personal theory with rock fishing is it's the hours you put in that will tell in the end. I like hearing about the big trips guys do but I have more confidence when I can work out the times to fish a place. I have found a few out of the way spots that look great but because they are out of the way I'm never sure if the spots no good or Im just there at the wrong time beacause I cant fish it frequently enough.
I have been fishing a spot not far away from Kilcunda and I've seen kings in the water 3 times but they are not interested when conditions are that flat. Plenty of pinkies available in those conditions though.
You will have more chance of success by learning a spot than by chasing the reports around , you will often miss the right conditions by turning up the next weekend.

Cast, catch and put it back

Re: Re: Kilcunda rocks
Yea big Rays usually just run hard in a straight line out for along time. The head shakes tell me that maybe it was a good fish. Who knows. I had a similar experience at red point.Bar002811 wrote:Yeah maybe but a big ray kinda sits there like a dead waight and bends your rod this one had some head shakes
