You could probably afford a charter once a month for the amount of petrol money alone Dougie et al would've spent over the last year trying to catch those kings
Have i told you the story about arriving at the prom at 5am from Melbourne only to find they'd closed it for the day?

Re: Kilcunda rocks
nah you just need lighter gear. take a trout rod, if they can make a trout feel like it's fighting hard a wrasse will feel like a marlin. have a feeble enough drag and even the toadies will go on screaming runsBar002811 wrote:Hey same here caught a tinny wrasse once not impressed with my self I was

That's a serious hike to that location. Reading your old thread brings back many fond memories of the many places me and my mate have been to over the years! We have had similar experiencesDougieK wrote:Lightningx wrote:That's fishing. Re: Kilcunda rocks
I fished berries beach Phillip island once of the rock platform on the side of the beach that was the first time had ever caught a wrasse at first I thought it was a rock cod and I pulled it in on my handreel I also thought it was poisonous and caught it on general rig with squid 1onth later I fished the same location and caught three stupid wrasse and I thaught my drag was not working on my surf rod but I got a massive bite but it ripped all my line out I still wonder today what fish it mighthave been
