mordy pier

Post by complete-anglerz-12 » Wed Jun 03, 2015 10:28 am

this post is a few weeks old day one of the complete angler sale and What a day! it was Rocked up to Mordy pier at around 10am with conditions pretty rough and windy. We set up at the end of the pier 2 blokes 3 rods each and had fresh salmon, squid and pillies for bait. A few hours later one of the surf rods buckled and we were fairly confident we had a decent red after a few short sharp runs. We got it to the surface and had to walk it 50 meters down the pier, dragging it under 10 other rods as our net was not long enough for that part of the pier. Cheers to the fishos who kindly moved there rods and cheers to the bloke who had the nerve to try and cast over all our rods, 2 minutes after landing the fish!
The Snapper went 65cm 3.2kg.

and now onto my new goal to land 7 gill this winter

Nice catch! Shout out to the fishos that let you go under them, good sports.

Never been to Mordi pier before myself, how far down is the water from the pier? I have a 2.4m Net, would this reach at least at high tide?

Thanks
You know what you'd rather be doinnnn

Nice catch! Might be worth bringing a hoop net next time you go down targetting them?

That's rough. Almost 300 views and 8 responses? A 3.5 kg Snapper off a pier in winter dragged to shore, under lines with no net. Damn...
