Hey guys

Quick clip from the weekend catching salmon trolling metal halcos... to the people who say do the metal lures produce fish????

Nice fish. In 30+ years, metal slugs is all I have ever used for sambos , for beach/pier (any LB) or boat ;), great for tailor too.
Even a wooden popper doesn't go a stray on the main line also (just above the leader) , blue or red ( mix it up ).

A Tip..If your using a leader, tie a snap swivel to the main line instead of tying the leader straight onto the main line.
Try a different colour popper clipped onto the snap swivel. This can help make it look like the main metal slug on the leader is chasing another fish ( the popper). Also as they are wood poppers; they float a bit higher under the water as a second lure at a different depth.
I've had many days where the salmon would just hit the metal lure, other days where double hook-ups , and others when just the popper is getting the hits , pays to have one on there as a bonus imo .
