I lose a couple pretty much every session. Eventually the stresses of casting get to the knots, usually the leader to swivel knot and they break off.

Vrop you're better off with gillies baitfish/pilchard, Halco twisties, Lazers or Spanyids. They are $4 each or something so they aren't going to blow your budget and you're catch rates will be much better.

You can go as light as 10g in a boat but spinning a surf beach you want 30-75 or so, the lightest lure i use in the surf is a 30g halco, with most of my fish coming on that or a 40g gillies.

You want to use the lightest lure you possibly can btw
Angling is the name given to fishing by people that can't fish

Common sense tells you that, big lures=big fish and small lures=all fish!!!! Plus a smaller lure has a higher hook up rate :)

It's different using metal slugs then soft plastics biggar, when chasing salmon you wind the metal in fast bringing it to mid/top water, the weight of the lure doesn't affect the action. When Using soft plastics you want to use the lightest jig head possible to make the lite look natural as you work it and let it drop to the bottom

i think a 25 gram will be more enticing than a 10 gram to all salmon.

But i'm Not a salmon so i can't say that's true.

The simplest lure is to thread the line through a straw and attach a hook and troll behind the boat.
