Its hard to compare glass to alloy boats
Ride is totally different
Also cant compare old alloy to new allow due to a change in style and flare amd deadrise etc

Old alloys boats were good in there day but dont compare to new fleared hulls etc

Lol would not bother with Quintrex considering some of their runabout (450 example) only 1.6 mm aluminium topsides ,most of their competitors have 3mm topsides...

FYI Quintrex, Stacer and Savage all come out of the same factory built to the same standards. The difference between the 3 hulls for the same size boat would be negligible. As far as $ value between the 3, Savage would be the best value for money, Quintrex the worst. You do pay a premium for the name, yet all 3 have a decent resale value compared to initial outlay.
Other makes, Clark are OK build quality, arguably the best value for money, probably close to worst resale of the lot.

Honestly there's bugger all difference between all the tinnies. Pick the boat you get the most with for the money, almost guarantee it won't be a Quintrex

Do yourself a favor and have a look at the plate boats from NZ at the boat show in a couple of months...compare them with the Aussie stuff and its like chalk & cheese. They arnt cheap, but you pay for what you get...McLay had some great boats last year.

When i was searching for a bigger boat everyone had a opinion on what was best.
It all comes down to what you comfitable paying for safety, ride and accessories.
Trial as many boats as you can before hand.
Also They say quintrex is crap but if its a few k cheaper are you willing to consider it.

For example quintrex thinner sides and noiser when cruising along. Didnt bother me. The rougher ride amd rolling started to bug me after a while.

Cheaper boat means working less and more fishing time are you willing to consider it as long as doesnt sacrifice on safety

Just food for thought
