Certainly may post a bit more often as my success rate picks up over summer. I usually fish the estuary around town, but when I get tired of pulling bream out of the Yarra I sometimes tackle carp in the Merri with patchy results.
On Sunday me and my mate set up for a couple of hours next to a stormwater pipe up by the bridge where I've big carp sunning and layed down some scented corn and bread. There was heaps of evidence of carp - mobile bubble trails and lots of muck kicking up from the bottom in big swirls but not a single hit on the hook baits.
So weirdly in my two short years in Melbourne I've landed more cod in the creek (1) than I have carp from the lake (0).

Anyone been fishing at coburg lake recently?? i have been a couple of times but never got a bite.
