Man, some of those Carp laying on the grass looked like labradors from a distance. They were massive. LOL

:-)
*cough* it was a spectacular dive worthy of Olympians ...
I practiced for that ...

And another reason to bring rod holders

A little birdie mentioned there was another Cull on the calendar, me thinks I'll make an appearance since I didnt end up putting my line in at all the first time - knew my kiddies rod would get stolen by those mud-sucking b@st@rds (the carp, not the forum dim sims M&S)

Went to visit an aunty that I have not seen for too long, who lives off Newlands Rd.
On the way home stopped to look at Coburg Lake.I have known (of) the lake for some 50 years, but never actually stopped there..
Later in life, drove passed it many times, going to the drive-in (It's still there).Youngins don't know what their missing out on..
Anyway... The water is reasonably clean and flowing over the weir..Too bad about the "human" rubbish though.
When I first approach the water, the ducks, swans, water fowl, pigeons & seagulls all came to say hello. I had no food, so they left.
Thought the weir wall would have deep water, but from a lookout,it appears to be shallow and full of snags..
There are many "fishy" spots..A couple I was keen on turned out to be very shallow & more snags than water..
It is a great spot for get together..Has everything..even a gym.. P.S. Does anyone actually use these gyms.. Have seen kids play on them..
Cheers
