A 78-year-old fisherman is missing after failing to return from a rock fishing trip on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.
The Wantirna man set off to go rock fishing at Blairgowrie Back Beach about 9am on Sunday and his family raised the alarm when he did not return home by the evening, police say.
The man's car was found in a nearby car park around 10pm on Sunday night and a search will resume at first light with assistance from other specialist police and the SES.
