Casting

Post by Wolly Bugger » Thu Mar 17, 2011 11:00 am

Watched a you tube video on distance casting and the technique is almost similar to casting a fly rod.

Just a thought, as I would like to be able to cast further than I currently do, maybe if someone is kind enough to teach me how to do it?

Possibly both Allan, but I would say Surf would be more of a fancy, as he fishes that a fair bit with me.

Thanks alien,

I fluked a cast that Brett was witnessed too that paced out to somwhere between 90-100 metres. I thought how did I manage that?

Now if I could cast that distance more often, it would be great, one of the issues though is that with bait fishing there is the weight of the sinker, then added to that is the weight of the bait, using eggbeaters although I do own a couple of overheads that I use mostly for trolling.

Saw one video of an american who was making the line on his reel disappear at a rapid rate of knots.

I have a 10 foot rod an old pro angler I think it is called, that I can cast a 30gram lure a fair distance, well further than most other people on the pier. Must measure the distance one day.
