I've seen a few different techniques and was wondering if you chaps could recommend a good surfcasting tutorial.

Here is a couple of short videos when Mick and I were having a bit of practice down at Black rock when the fish weren't biting.

Learning to cast for the surf isn't that hard , to get good however is like everything else you need to practice and have the right equipment. Most surf outfits should be able to see you hitting 80 to 100 meters . Past that and as I said you have to decide that you want too.

In the video here we see a few of the guys from the ASF and a few of the kids having a comp where you can actually measure what you are achieving and therefore understand what other options you have when going down to the surf. Be it putting your baits in close on the surf break during the eveing and night or out behind the breakers in the moddle of the day when the fish generally hold out wider.

Even though the conditions were not the best the top distance thrown was 228 meters. or to put it another way the MCG goal post to goal post plus and additions 68 meters :o
