Relaxing at Mogg's

Post by JS270 » Sun May 29, 2011 11:11 pm

Well one of our newer members decided to meet up with me at the South Barwon reserve for a short casting session and then to come for a fish .
The plan was to go over to Mario's to get some squid and then head down to 13th and see how it was , making our way up the beaches if we found them too weeded up.

Given the stop at Mario's took longer as expected and that I had checked the web cam of 13th showing a large amount of weed we decided to head straight down to Hut Gully and see if that was better. It too had a fair bit of weed out the back and the better gutter already had a fisherman trying his luck. Not wanting to crowed the guy out we then headed down to Mogg's Creek and it was here that we hope we could get a few salmon.

The formation of the beach wasn't the best but we still got an outgoing rip and sent some baits out in the hope of getting a few.

Chris hasn't done much of this fishing as his experience is from fishing the Scottish Rocks with shingel beaches as the second option.

( Its not always about the fishing - sometimes its just the relaxation :D )

We only got a few fish but it was still a very relaxed afternoon after the casting in the morning. As the tide started to rise our hopes were that the fish would move into the gutter closer to the beach and make it easier to get the baits out to them.

Well we didn't do that good but ended the session with only 3 small fish for our efforts , there again there will always be next weekend to try and make ammends.

Roll on next weekend. :D
