Johanna Beach

Post by emerger1 » Sun Jun 10, 2018 9:00 am

Went for a surf fish last Thursday 7/6/18 at Johanna Beach past Cape Otway. Beautiful day, overcast, off shore wind, surfers going nuts on left handers , right handers, barrels, upto 2m plus. Ideal for surf fishing as well. Started at about 1 pm, H tide at 5.15 pm. About 2.30pm had a burst of activity. 3 salmon around 4kilos plus. Lost 2 (mine) and Christina caught and landed one. At least 10lbs. Just before H tide weather went south, wind change blowing sand like shrapnel and started raining. Left the beach just when gummies would be starting. O well. There'll be a next time. Cheers.

Those are big sambos mate. Last time I was there the missus and I got a few one big one but wasn’t as big as the ones you got.
4 kilos plus. Monsters.
You are right about the gummies on that beach and they can get huge also.
