They grow them big in WA

Post by JS270 » Wed Apr 26, 2017 7:27 am

Well as a few of you guys may know the WA chapter of the ASF had their casting titles this past weekend and it was a blast even though it was a small turnout . Best cast for the comp was 239 plus meters and best distance for the weekend was 241+ meters.

The side benefit of attending the comp over the west though is the after comp fishing that is on offer. We had a full day spinning for Salmon up to 10 kg.

It was a buzz on the light braid and lures and whilst it got a little bit hectic with the others down there we still managed quite a few . All were catch and release but two which had taken the lures down into the gills and were bleeding to badly to let go.

Loads of fun and look forward to it again next year :water:

Very nice! I can only imagine how hard a salmon of that size would fight!

There's some nice fish in that video, well done, cheers davo :a_goodjob:
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Dazz ,

I won the Aggregate over the various leads but lost the biggest distance to one of my students who threw a brilliant 239+ meters on the 150 gram lead for the day two . I had taken honors on day one with a cast of 233 meters for the lighter leads i.e. up to 125 gram but only managed 236 meters on the 150 gram.

Overall however I threw the furthest distance for the weekend with a cast of 241+ meters but sadly this was on the 125 gram on the second day ( 150 to 200 gram leads )

Still a great comp and it was pleasing to see one of the guys I teach pass me as that means I am teaching him the correct way .

Regards
