In regards to location I fish along the St. Kilda forshore but should point out that I cast the length of a football field and longer with baited rigs , if you cast shorter distances you will need to fish the rougher conditions when the snapper move in closer to shore . Only problem with this is the rough conditions also generally mean that you are casting into the headwinds and a lot of people find difficulty with that.

Dunno if you got a PM or not but people can be a bit protective of their landbased spots, so try these:

BCF should have them so no need to pay for postage. Best $20 you'll ever spend
thanks a lot m8.

If you want some help with casting and fishing in general I am happy to meet up at Port Melbourne or Cherry Lake to run you through a few pointers.

Some basic casting styles

Great Videos mate

I'd love to see you do a write up and video on this new Aussie Gizmo called Cast Master for those of us who don't cast mega distances like you do ;-)

Timi200,

Most surf rods and reels when set up properly will cast 100 meters with a reasonable technique. Before worrying about spending any extra cash I would suggest having a half hour session learning a better technique and you will get a pleasant surprise what you can achieve with the gear you have. DougieK on here came down and has a session and was pleases with the improvements that he had. Have a chat with him as well as he does a fair bit of the shore.

Here's some footage that we did with him casting.

There's no cost involved other than you making the time to meet up.
