Whe things go WRONG :-(

Post by JS270 » Mon Mar 07, 2016 9:20 am

Like all things we try to avoid making people aware of the struggles we have when practicing but I feel it's important for others to know that we ALL have those days that we wish didn't happen.

Its fun for other to see as we can all relate to it :D

Here's a short video from yesterdays mishap

I was fishing under a nice shady tree a couple weeks ago and bumped my head on a wasp nest after being stung several times I thought I'd better jump in the water they have a pretty nasty sting and don't like being disturbed think I'll give that spot a miss in future.

Hey mate, Where will you be fishing?? I'm guessing the surf??
I've never practiced casting in a park in my life although I have though of it just so I can see how far I can cast but Iv never got around to it. And why do you let your rod tip and rig touch the ground?? You should be swinging the sinker and belting it out once the sinker is in line with the rod.

I love this forum sometimes.

While you're around I think Mayweather could use some help with his footwork.

Am I in the wrong dougik?? Because I've never seen anyone cast like that before, in 26 years Of fishing I havnt seen anyone cast like that on a pier or the surf or the rocks or on TV. Maybe I need to learn if this is effective, looks like to cast like that you would need a lot of room or someone's gonna get hurt, some insight on it would be good...

Yeah, I think thats a competition wind up... 30yrs ago we measured my cast at 230mtrs. (I dont worry about the non believers). In those days it was with a 17ft rod and a 650 alvey loaded with 12lb nylon with 30lb shock leader. But that was only with a sinker, cant remember the weight.
We all fished like that back then, and been 6'4" with long arms, I had a reach like a sick dog. We all had our own little "Dance steps" to wind up the cast.

Just say'n
Cheers.....ThomasG
