Thanks everyone for the responses. SA sounds great I reckon most of my fishing will be done in and around vic. Just easier on the weekends. No beach driving means no 4x4 for me.... the missus is happy about that haha

Head to SA as recommended by Carl or if you like warmer weather try Mungo beach halfway up the NSW coast.

As for ledges..... search on the site for "Red Point" "bushrangers bay" "Caddy Point" and read the entire Cape Schanck section.
