Bass coast, 27th June

Took a day of annual leave and was on the beach by 1pm. Fished last 4 hrs of run in tide for 7 salmon, 6 were about 750g, and 1 was about double that. Then tried for something bigger after dark but all was quiet, not even the draughtboards were around, just lots of sealice stripping our baits. All in all a great arvo, even if it was a bit quiet. Was joined by a seal for a bit, which didn't really help the cause, then saw a small whale about 2 kms off shore which was a treat. Around Kilcunda's been pretty quiet this winter, normally the 2-3kgs models are out by now. Maybe it's the calm before the storm??

Cheers, Alex
