Yesterday from about midday I spun portsea, Sorrento on plastics, Diamond bay on plastics, Rye, Gunnamatta, then finished at cape schanck just after sunset as the storm rolled in. 6 hours of casting. Not even a sign of a fish.

Going to write off this salmon season, hit the squid then sit on some baits for snapper for a couple of months I think.

You'll probably catch more salmon than Snapper that way

The last decent sambo I got was a 48 that ate a whole silver whiting on the bottom. before that I can't remember. For the first time I actually can't remember the last time i hooked a good salmon on a lure.
