On another note whatever happened to fish and chip shops not making their own chips anymore......

Add potato cakes to that too,those factory made one's are crappier than the chips :down:

Bloody thing's are probably even healthy for you.

One of our local shops now uses paper printed up to look like newspaper......but still not the same

I can remember when the minium chips was 40 cents and patatoe cake 10 cents..
you gotta hav a crack even if yr just pissin in the wind

I only ever remember minimum chips being $1 30+ years ago and potato cakes were 30 cents lol

Well if anyone is near the Croydon/Bayswater area I recommend eastfield fish and chips. Corner of Bayswater and eastfield road is a group of shops. It's the one next to the noodle bar. $5 dory pack gives you a piece of dory, potato cake and chips. The number of those I've bought between school pickups because of having 30mins between pick ups........I don't want to even think!

There is a tiny little place on Riversdale rd near Verdun st that does some of the best fish and chips I've had in my life.
