Anyone recognise these scales?

Post by Basti » Fri Dec 09, 2016 5:00 pm

Mornington just now. Weight on the lift and then a medium paced run, headshakes and off. Didn't feel the take. Was a good sized fish similar in weight to 35cm salmon but didn't pull as hard

I'm thinking big flathead.

Yeah flatties have really small scales. Probably a pinkie but can't rule out red mullet. Was the scale very soft or quite hard and rigid? Soft is the red mullet.

Rigid scales. Wasn't frantic enough for red mullet. Possibly a pinkie then

Just soak your hands in tuna oil for about 10min a day. It will fix your cuticles :-D
