i caught these out off from the Cowes pier last week , took a picture because i hadn't caught one before.T These would be the macks talked
about. They are XL compared with the regular size caught off the pier normally. i thought originally it was large salmon, but no .Actually caught on Whiting rig. ID Are they just large slimeys. ray

We pan fry them whole (heads off) and serve them with a side of polenta and homemade garlic dipping sauce. And beer of course.

I followed your suggestion with the ones we caught and it was ******* delicious with a bit of mild hot sauce, salt and lemon juice.
