Hey mate I have fished both the left platform and also the right side as well. The walk down to the left side is quite easy compared to the right side. I found the water on the right side to be deeper. It's like 10 metres straight down in front of you.
Have caught some very nice salmon on the left side casting not straight out the front but on the right side :) I have also done the long walk to half moon bay beach which from memory was about a 2.5 km walk and caught some stonker whiting from that beach! During snapper season in the past met some locals and heard of very big snappers landed from there as well :)

The last time I went there with my mate we caught all kinds of strange fish. A couple we still don't know what they were to this day. The walk down to the right side is quite dangerous though mate. There is a section where it's only about 2 metres wide with a drop straight down to the rocks below about 50 metres high. I **** myself when I first did that walk lol caught some nice sweep from there though :)

It's a great place to fish but before you go just check the wind direction. Before you jump over the fence there is a sign saying lives have been lost here due to freak waves. There is a picture where it is calm one minute and then a few minutes later a massive wave crashing over the rocks. They even have lifebouys there on the cliff walls just in case.
