Re: Fishing report & tackle request
A couple of shiny lures for Salmon, they pop up all the time at the moment.
A float and some silverfish as bait, should see you get some garfish, which are plentiful along the peninsula at the moment.
A couple of squid jigs in varying colour, usually pretty hard not to catch squid from now on.
A few size 4 or 6 long shank hooks fished on a running sinker, as light as needed to get the bait out and you should get all sorts of bottom dwelling fish, from whiting, snapper, leather jackets, to port jackson sharks and banjo sharks. Use fresh squid for bait if you catch one, otherwise, pippies, bluebait, whitebait etc will all get you some sort of action.

Re: Fishing report & tackle request
There is an abundance of garfish in the whole Brighton to Frankston area...
Lots of fun to catch too!
Just take some size 12 long shank hooks and silverfish or small bits of squid and you are set!
Grab a squid jig or 3 for when the sun sets.

With regards to the garfish I used to catch them on Puff Pastry dough off Droman Pier, just wondering if they were still taking the dough?fishingvic wrote:There is an abundance of garfish in the whole Brighton to Frankston area...

Take a 6 to 8kg general purpose outfit & cast a pilchard out for a chance for a snapper or flathead & use a light 2kg outfit for garfish etc while waiting around for things to happen .
