Hi Guys This is my first post,

Looking to take my 16 yr old son and 24 yr old landbased fishing. Ideally targeting flathead whiting and or someone, im also open to garfish. Any recommended piers or locations which are landbased that these targeted species are caught at in good size. Been down to flinders and lorne with minimal success although got a nice 42c, Leather down at flinders jetty. Open to any where within two hours of melbourne

Regards, Jibrael

St Kilda - kerferd road pier or princess pier pretty good for flatties on an outgoing tide. Good chance of whiting too. During/after a westerly is good for pinkies

If you dont mind a drive maybe go to portarlington pier. Never guaranteed a catch landbased unfortunately.

I got some nice king George Whiting at st Leonard's couple weeks back, guy next to me got 2 massive flatty that woulda went easy 50cm+ a piece. Near the start of the pier couple asians got few realy good size garfish on float. Also bring along couple squid jigs, there are always a chance of squid drifting around. I also saw a guy towards the end of the pier pulled up a nice pinkie that woulda been 40cm+
Goodluck
