"caught" this worm from a snag. It was encased in the crusty thing at the top...
just wondering what type of worm it is and if it is any good as bait for particular species?
When I cut it, it was oozing green liquid :dontknow
What worm is this?

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: What worm is this?
Were you fishing at Docklands? I used to catch a heap of these at Docklands. Once I pulled in a whole wine glass on my hook because one of those had grown onto the glass and it wanted my bait!
Apparently they are some sort of introduced tube worm that arrived on foreign ships. Hardly anything eats it and it is not good for our waters. I tried them for bait when I first caught some but not a single nibble.
I could be wrong but that's what I was told. They're a pretty gross specimin.
