Fresh baits.

Best bites I've had latlely r on squid.
I was drifting about 500meters b4 P2 n I was flicking a 7inch Whit gulp plastic around,n on one of my retrivels there was about 5inch live squid on the soft plastic.
I put the live squid on kl1 /0 hook with 10lb leader and put it over the side .
About 3mins later had a screaming run n shortly after bitten off.

Anybody know how to catch tiny squid.lol

Throw a small squid jig out. Like a 1.8 sized one.

1.5 size squid jig on a paternoster rig should snag a few, the bigger ones will smash them too when the squid are out in force/groups.

Try those California squid in the frozen package, they are not fresh but they are small..

On those frozen packages of California Squid. I use them periodically as a "back up" when I don't have fresh squid. They fit nice whole on two snelled hooks (or cut for single hooks)
I get criticised by some for using them as they say they are no good and that fresh is better. Which yes, partly true.
I go on the notion that frozen California Squid are better , , , , than no squid bait at all. And I have caught using them

I use them too if unable to catch a couple myself. They're usually in great condition and work well. A quick check as you pull them out the bait freezer to make sure they are fresh looking is always wise. Purple squid is rubbish and not worth wasting money on or using.

Yes fresh is better but the OP stated he wanted small squid, the Californian squid are the smallest that can be purchased from most bait outlets.
Perfect for a two hook rig...

A 2.0 squid jig should do the job they weigh about 6grams

Or catch a bigger one and cut in half ,still works
