Went a bit better with the Longshank Baitholders and the squid strip at the end.

Went to Merricks Beach yesterday;

and got a baby whiting (thrown back);
WP_20180411_14_38_24_Pro.jpg
and a Pinkie (kept);

Pretty hard work - kept getting snagged on the weeds and lost a couple of rigs, but it was good to get the Pinkie which just came along and went whack with no mucking around. The pinkie actually bit on just a piece of squid by itself - I had just baited it up at the end to get rid of the last of it and see what would happen. It was also good to get it on the paternoster rig I tied myself the night before with the longshanks, some red tube and beads.
