Hi guys. Does anyone know where to get worms for the freshwater fish? And no I'm not digging them up out the garden lol. I tried my bcf in frankston but they have no stick yet. Want to head out Tuesday so want to get today

Just wondering does anyone make/grow their own worms? A relative of mine, in the Riverland, use to have Tiger Worms, that he grew, in a spot near his compost heap and would poke and get some out every time he went fishing.

And are there other worms that work for fresh water that can be grown/harvested at home as well?

Worms, earth worms are actually rather interesting, mainly because there are many different species. The old tiger worm is reportedly not the best to go fishing with.

My favourite worm for catching trout was a scrub worm only found in the high country like Cooma, Adaminaby.

That is interesting , , , , just goes to show , , , , mainstream info which told me Tiger Worms are great, how wrong or misleading it can be. I would have it as a guess that Tiger Worms are popular only because they are an easily marketable and harvest-able worm rather than the exotic.

But I agree , , , , sometimes the effort in getting the better bait is worth it in the results they bring

Check out Gumtree, a few people are selling them on there. Some servos stock them here and there as well. I mostly use Nightcrawlers because they’ve given me the most success in the past.
