Been honing them all weekend at greencape on small gillies pilchards in white. Absolute first light to sunrise

What are your plans for them DougieK?
Btw slimy for me are great eating cooked a certain way. A lot of people hate it because it's so fishy but a few of the right balancing ingredients and you end up with a soft yet creamyish flesh

Mine were sitting in a natural live bait pool before being bridled under a ballon on the end of a LBG rod.

I like to cook them with an asian influence. The important ingredients are soy sauce, lime, ginger and garlic to balance that oily, strong flavour. You can add capsicum, honey if you want to turn it to a bit of a sweeter broth, some spring onions.
