Reminds me of one time that two guys fishing close to me at Eucumbene were using surf rods complete with paternposter rigs and heavy sinkers. They even caught a big Brown around 2 kg on a bardi grub while I struggled with a couple of small Rainbows on my trout gear.

nah only kidding this was my missus rod and reel when she use to fish with her dad as a kid the lure is a metal bibbed yozuri

My mum said thats what pa use to use as a spare rod for bottom bashing for flathead at bermagui but with a older mitchell reel.
Good rod in there day
