Hi guys, I have a plan to fish for kings near mallacoota with my mates this summer, but I haven't been there before and of course have no idea which charter is reliable near there.
Can any gentleman tell me which charter is famous near Mallacoota?

Many thanks.

Hey mate, not sure how you will go for charters up there. I know a couple of the local ab guys do a little bit on the side. If you get on with anyone local they will be able to put you on the fish. They know there way around.
Can be a bit hit n miss till late January, but by all reports this year they are in a bit earlier already.

Areas you will find them around are the 2 islands offshore (tulla & Gabo). As well as star banks.... but that's a big hike with no shelter.

Cheers,

I'd say try Merimbula or Bermagui if you want kings. I dont think there is much when it comes to charters around coota. plus you will be in with a better chance further up the coast.

Cheers, Anth

I'd be fishing for what Mallacoota is famous for - monster bream and flatties!

Definitely is famous for that, but there is definitely also quality fish offshore, depends what you want to target I guess.

Not sure if dream catcher operates through the Christmas period or not, definitely got his crew on to quality swords through April May last year.

Good advice in heading to Bermi though, probably the best bet for charters around montague.
