Odd season

Post by cobby » Sun Apr 03, 2016 10:20 pm

Well since my season is done it's about time some pics were shown.

Firstly, in homage to Dougie https://youtu.be/Ov9NF1MDBHs

It's been hard at times to get decent live baits. Desperation calls for 36cm Whiting to end up swimming with a big hook on their heads

The weather... well there has been decent weather at perfect times. Pity these days never lined up with fish firing. Image

Then there's the days when livies come easy... Only result in seals and 60cm Salmon (no pic. Everyone's seen good sized Salmon. And all but 2 are still swimming).

And some days all goes well

Smallest fish came in at 90cm. Largest at 119cm. All single fish each trip which was frustrating. Especially the couple of donut trips where big fish ate up 50lb on tight drags like it was a spider web. There were no rats at all this season.

The reason why this year I'm not in any pictures? Well I couldn't make every trip. I got a capture a little different to a hoodlum

I bet you bottom dollar that last hoodlum gives you more grief than a 40lber ever would. Haha.

I got out twice this year and did no good each time. The very few days I did have off the weather was either shite or was spent doing something else. Some cracking fish in there though. Well done mate.

Congrats on the kid and the fish.

I've noticed that compared to last year we've had an awful lot of southerly winds. Last year I could pick a night a week out of several to fish a beach with the north wind over my shoulder but that has hardly happened at all this year. Dunno if it has affected the fish but it has certainly been frustrating.
