Did someone mention "Kingfish?"

Yellowtail Kingfish (Scientific name - Seriola lalandi), Kingys, Kings, Hoodlums, Bandits or "Rat Kings" are a strong, exciting gamefish that strike savagely at a wide range of lures, live baits and dead or cut fish fillets. Victorian Yellowtail Kingfish reports right here.

I was out chasing whiting in westernport, and had a massive screaming run, got it to the boat to see a silver and yellow torpedo shaped fish coming up, lost my sh*t. Turned out it was the biggest bloody yakka I have ever seen in my life. Would have been the better part of 50cm.

Shattered
lol
Didn't know yakkas grew that big, was it one of those Cowanyoung or something?
Yeah, it would have been a cowanyoung, i just think of them all as yakkas cos they all look so similar lol. I should have taken a photo of it before I tossed it back in, in disgust. I do have a photo of a big one I caught a while back. But yeah, it was a monster.

Got them all on squid, caught the squid first thing in the morning. Got a few big cuttle fish on the drift as well but didnt use them for bait.

The water clarity was terrible this weekend with water visibility < 3 meters, hopefully in a week or two the water will clear up and the fishing will improve. If any one is heading out this week we got our fish just off Minerva reef.

I could tell you Steve, but I'd have to beat you to death with a kingy head afterwards.
