Great video! I have no experience in the salt, however, looking at the size of the fish you have been getting, I would have pictured you using heavier gear. Your gear looked relatively light yet obviously handles them OK. What do you and your mate use?

Looks like a Gomoku Kaiten to me, rated Pe1-3. That means it can fish anything from 30-40lb with no dramas.

Yep Gomoku, and Ecooda Blackhawk micro-jigging rods are the go. Very strong rods, 15lb line with 30lb leader is enough to handle these kingies. So much fun on light gear! If you have never given micro jigging a go it's worth a crack for sure!

We were one of the only boats to get onto the kingies yesterday, I think a lot of that had to do with the small 100g knife jigs we were using matching the hatch a bit better, and you don't wear yourself out quickly with light gear as apposed to work 250g knife jigs on heavy gear all day.
