i chase carp in a 1-3 kilo rod 3lb braid and 6lb leader 1000 size reel. biggest carp went 7.3 kilo and it took about 10 mins in a lake so 50 mins is a bit far fetch't
where is the calamari ............. don't worry they coming ........ they will come

Some people just like to play it safe, I've seen a guy loosen his drag and walk 50m up and down the bank while trying to land a 25cm Aussie Salmon, funny thing is it actually got off in the end.. :lolf: :lolf: :lolf:

When I'm fighting carp I just wind them in and yank them on to the bank, you don't need to be that careful because their lips are so rubbery and tough...
