Here's a couple of photos of Walleye that was caught by a good friend of mine in France when he managed to get away from his job at Mepps..
He tells me that they're a great fighting fish and that these two are just a couple of small ones... these were both taken in Lakes one in France and the other In Spain..
cheers

I am no expert on this , but i suspect they maybe Zander. A close to relative of the Wall-eye (their north american counter part)
I have caught a small Zander on a lure while bait fishing for Wels Catfish on the river Ebro in Spain , Dropped it while trying to take a pic

Thank fully didnt drop the catfish while taking the picture.

I have no idea as I'm just going by what he told me he caught... perhaps the bottom ones a Zander as it does look a little different in colour..
Perhaps they're stocked in the rivers & lakes in Europe now.. I know they're a native of Canada & North America & a close relative to the European Zander.. but that's all I know about them.. did find the following on line..

Heard of and seen Zander before but not a walleye.
They look decent size but they are small ones? Wonder how big a big one is then? Interesting looking fish, first time I’ve heard of this species.

They are an interesting looking fish. A cross between a big whiting with a trout head.

Are you sure they are walleye and not zander? Walleye are native to Canada and the USA, while zander are native to Europe. I didn't think Walleye were in Europe, but I could be wrong. Walleye and zander are in the same genus (Walleye = Sander vitreus; zander = Sander lucioperca) and they look very similar. I've caught Walleye in the states, they pull hard and eat anything you toss at them. Very cool fish.
