Post by Sarg-79- » Fri Jul 17, 2015 11:54 am

I've been in the states since march staying in Ann Arbor Michigan and my time was spent as the stay at homd dad while the boss was working. First thing to do in the lake state was aquire a few fishing rods. So many lakes and rivers around Michigan that are well stocked.

Anyway here are a few pics from our fishing adventures... as you can tell to the boss doesnt like putting the kids faces out in cyber space....

We also took a charter in the Manistee River for my sons b'day. We got alot of trout, only one legal though, sighted a few big small mouth bass but couldn't get them to take and we also managed a few Steelhead which was thr highlight....

Cheers poodoo,

Yup no shortage of carp!! A lady my son and I had a flyfishing lesson with told us if we ever come across a mulberry tree overhanging the water there will be carp underneath it. We found one on our last day to go fishing. We got busted off three times and i got sick of re-rigging so just tied a hook to the mainline threaded on a mulberry or three and lobbed it out three meters and BAM! All in half an hour.

And yeah the bass were fun! Only a few big ones but the kids loved them none the less! My son has gone fishing mad even more than he was. My daughter finally took an interest as well... we will see how that holds up when we eventually get back home.

Great report & pic's Sarg, nice trip for all of you too. Some top fishing going by the reports and good to see the young ones get into a few fish.
Nothing wrong with editing the kids faces either, well done to the boss for that too..

cheers

Awesome mate! Love seeing fish from other countries. I'll be in the states for a good period next year hopefully and catching a bass is pretty high on my list!
